The Segmented Harlequin features a unique shell design made up of seven different segmented rings of tropical and indigenous hardwoods. Each ring consists of eight segments of different woods: Wenge, Bubinga, Purpleheart, Ash, Oak, Brazilian Cherry, Iroko, and Beech. The varying rings highlight the individual patterns in the timbers, creating a dynamic visual effect as the viewing angle changes. Each ring includes one segment of each of the eight woods used.
The selected woods are chosen for their dense, hard physical properties, making them ideal tone woods that produce a shell bursting with character. Combined with its 13" diameter and depth, this snare drum offers enormous versatility. The shell is finished with a high-gloss lacquer.
