This pre-loved Corder Drum Company 3-Piece was brought in as a trade-in by one of our customers, along with a rare Trixon Luxus 3-Piece and a Tama Starclassic Hyperdrive Birch Bubinga, who ended up purchasing one of our BDC kits. Due to its age and life, it has some surface defects, such as scratches and slight dents, and also has some slight whiting/rusting on the internal screws, as shown in the photos. With a little TLC, this rare beauty can really be brought back to life. For any further enquiries about this kit, please get in contact with the shop.

A Little Bit of History

Corder Drum Company was a percussion instrument manufacturing company based in Huntsville, Alabama. The company was created in 1979 by Jim Corder following his purchase of the dies, moulds, and tooling apparatus of the Fibes Drums Company from its then-owner, C. F. Martin & Company. Fibes were well known for their acrylic drums, but Jim wanted to make wood shells while retaining the famous Fibes Lug and SFT parallel throw-off. Corder Drum manufactured a line of wood shell drums using Fibes-designed lugs, strainers, and hoops until 1990, when Corder sold his company to Sammy Darwin, a radio programmer who renamed the operation Darwin Drums. Four years later, Darwin sold the company to Tommy Robertson, who then brought back the Fibes Drum Company name for the product line.
